About Creek & Current
The Creek & Current and current story is, inherently, a New England one. One inspired by the past, and building for the future. That inspiration, and the continuing evolution, guide our craftsmanship and our rod building. Meticulously crafted by hand, each of our rods are unique, and rooted in recognizable, iconic New England fishing destinations - the cold, clear creeks of the White Mountains, the rolling ridges of the Greens, and the notoriously powerful currents of the Piscataqua River. Each small batch rod reflects the power and purpose of their nameplate destinations.
Established as “Creek Native Fly Company” in 2023 by two fishy friends - Camden Patten and Spencer Blake, Creek & Current has evolved alongside the founders’ own journeys. What was inspired by an inherited love of the outdoors has morphed into something much more, much deeper - a dedication, an obligation even, to not just sustain the sport of fly fishing, but to grow it with care, compassion, and a deep focus on meaningful connection to the land, to the community, and to the tradition.
This mission is evident not only in the quality, performance, and namesake inspiration of the carefully crafted portfolio of small-batch rods, but in all that we do - from custom crafted rods to camps, courses, and classes that seek to entrust the future of the sport to generations to come. We build more than quality fly rods. We build quality anglers.
The Small-Batch Line
Last winter, we expanded beyond custom builds to launch our small-batch rod line: a curated collection of ready-to-fish rods, each inspired by a specific New England destination that means something to us on a deeper, personal level. These rods are designed to cover every species - and every size - of fish you could encounter across New England, from blue line brook trout to slug stripers in the salt.
Education & Community
Fly fishing is a sport worth sharing. That is more than a belief for us, it is a lifestyle. We carefully craft, develop, and deliver lessons and educational programs, bringing new anglers to the water with confidence and care. We partner with local organizations, and engage in community outreach and expansion, seeking to instill a deep respect for the fish, the sport, and the waters we all call home.
Our Philosophy
We build for anglers who appreciate more than the fish - anglers who appreciate the process, the particularities, and the peaceful presence of wild places. Every rod is made with high-quality, domestically sourced materials. Every lesson is taught with genuine passion for the sport. We are not doing everything, we are not for everyone. We are here for the angler who feels the passion and pull toward the water, the one that wants gear and guidance with a history that they can trust.
Thank you for being part of it. If you haven't yet, follow the journey on facebook and instagram @creekandcurrent. Tight lines!
