You Build It, You Keep It

In this two-session introductory rod building class our expert rod building instructor teaches you how to build your own high performance spinning or casting rod from start to finish, grip to tip. Hosted by North Country Hard Cider in Dover, NH, this class is limited to 10 people and includes a complimentary drink from the bar. Our staff provides all the necessary materials and instruction to build your very own bass rod.

  • Session 1: Tuesday, December 2 · 4:00–8:00 PM
  • Session 2: Tuesday, December 9 · 5:00–7:00 PM

  • Class Size: 10 person max.

The Materials

All necessary materials will be provided by Creek & Current. Rod components will be supplied according to rod type preference (spinning vs. casting). All rod building equipment is supplied by, and sole property of, Creek & Current. The materials used and included in this class are:

Rod Components

  • Assorted bass rod blanks (UL up to Heavy, 5ft up to 7.5ft)
  • Grips (EVA Foam, Cork)
  • Reel Seat
  • SSR Guide Set + Top Tip (Spinning or Casting)
  • Custom printed label decal with your name

  • Pre-loaded 24ml ProKöte Medium Build Rod Finish syringes
  • 2 oz. ProPaste Paste Bonding Epoxy

The Experience

Over the course of two evenings you will work hands-on through the fundamentals of bass rod construction, from blank selection and component fitting to wrapping guides and finishing with epoxy. Each session, each participant receives a complimentary drink from the NCHC bar to enjoy during the class. Every step is guided by our expert lead rod builder. You will leave with a rod built by your own hands, ready to fish.

The Audience

Whether you're a seasoned angler curious about what goes into the tool you fish with, or someone looking to deepen your connection to the craft, this class is made for you. No prior rod building experience required, our instructor provides all the necessary guidance to get a working rod on the water. It is recommended that each participant bring a cordless handheld drill if it is available, it will be used to correctly size grips to fit the provided blank. We will have a limited number of cordless drills available to use.

Cancelations and Refunds

All bookings are non-refundable unless your open spot can be filled before the first event date (12/02/26). Cancelations will forfeit the class fee and receive their rod components either in person or by mail, decided at time of cancelation. Shipping charge will be applied for any shipped items.
